What types of heated airers are available at Lakeland?

When it comes to choosing the best heated clothes airer, we offer a variety of models to suit different needs:

  • Dry:Soon Standard and Mini — Classic, aluminium-frame airers that gently dry your clothes with thermostatic control so they never overheat. The Dry:Soon Mini 3-tier heated airer is ideal for tighter spaces, while the standard model offers 21m of drying space that folds down to just 8cm deep — perfect for stowing away in your utility cupboard.
  • Dry:Soon Deluxe — Offering a massive 21m of drying space designed to hold 15kg over three tiers, the Dry:Soon Deluxe heated clothes airer features an eye-level control panel, built-in timer, and optional detachable castors for easy moving.
  • Dry:Soon Drying Pod — Uses a fan heater in the base to circulate hot air around clothes hanging inside. The pod holds up to 12 hangers, drying garments effectively without the friction of a tumble dryer. Plus, the Pod folds down flat for easy storage.
  • Dry:Soon Drying Cabinet — With 2 generous rails designed to hold up to 10kg, this 1200w heated dryer is perfect for larger loads. The fabric cover traps heat inside, slowly extracting moisture from your clothes without the risk of burns.

Are heated airers worth it?

If you’re looking for a simple way to avoid draping damp clothes over radiators, doors, and chairs, a heated airer is a game-changer.

Hanging wet laundry around the house can take days to dry and cause musty smells. A dedicated Dry:Soon heated airer is a smart, energy-saving compromise that dries your clothes much faster without having to turn on the central heating for the whole house.

How long does a heated airer take to dry clothes?

While they take a little longer than a traditional tumble dryer, a heated drying rack is significantly faster than a standard unheated model.

Specific drying times can vary depending on the fabric and temperature of your room, but on average, our Dry:Soon range can dry a full washing load in 4 to 12 hours.

You can speed the process up by using a cover to trap the warmth, or by adding breathable mesh shelves to dry heavy knits flat. It’s an efficient way to do indoor laundry.

Can you leave a heated airer on overnight?

We don’t recommend leaving any electrical appliance running unattended overnight. However, if you opt for one of our Deluxe models with a built-in timer, you don't need to worry about remembering to turn it off. Simply set the timer to switch off automatically before you go to sleep, and you’ll wake up to dry clothes in the morning.
