The go anywhere, cook anything Cobb
The good things in life
Think sizzling sausages and almost-too-big-to-fit-in-your-mouth burgers; juicy and tender melt-in-the-mouth steaks and plump, garlicky prawns. Think eat-with-your-hands chicken wings and juice dripping down your chin; chargrilled veg or corn on the cob. Think that’ll-finish-things-off-nicely desserts. Think food with friends outside in the summer sunshine. Think outdoor kitchen. Think Cobb.
You could just buy a basic, bog-standard barbecue from the garden centre, or even a flimsy disposable one – but from back garden (or front garden) to park picnic table, campsite to beach and beyond, the versatile Cobb Barbecue System will fire up your foodie imagination and provide the perfect way to get sociable with family and friends this summer, wherever you find yourself. And now there’s a gas model too, so it’s even easier to get cooking when you’re out and about
Grill talk
Food really does taste better outdoors (yes, even burnt bangers and cremated burgers) but choose a Cobb cooker and some of the Cobb accessories and your culinary horizons will be broadened. Because barbecuing is only the beginning with the Cobb. It can roast, bake, grill, fry, smoke and make delicious pizza, all with the minimum of effort. The convex cooking surface has been designed so that fat drains away from your food for healthier eating, and the handy addition of a domed lid not only keeps flavour locked in but also allows for outdoor cooking on even the windiest of days.
Cook a full English breakfast – a great way to fuel up for the day when you’re camping; joints of beef, lamb or pork, a whole chicken, pizzas and freshly made bread; salmon fillets and vegetable kebabs. There’s even an integral moat for infusing your food with the flavour of wine, beer or summery cider (a great excuse to get plenty of extra booze in).
The easy-to-light compact Cobb can be set up just about anywhere, and as its outside stays cool, it can even perch on a tabletop. Easily fitting into the boot of your car, it can be transported to wherever you plan to get grilling, and it’s perfect for caravanners and camper van enthusiasts too.
Come on, baby, light my fire
The Cobb cooker is so easy to light. You can use ordinary charcoal briquettes, but we recommend Cobble Stones – quick-lighting, long-burning and with minimum smoke, they offer up to 2 hours’ cooking time so you can keep grilling right up to the last sausage.
Place your Cobble Stones and firelighters into the fire basket, then light. When the flames have died down and the beads go ashy (around 7 minutes), you’re ready to go.
But what about pizza?
You can cook pizza on the Cobb, but if it’s scorching hot from the flames, authentic Italian-style pizza you want when you’re out and about, we recoomend an Ooni pizza oven. Choose between the multi-fuel Karu, the wood-fired Fyra and the sleek and stylish gas-powered Koda. These portable beauties will turn out a slice in only 60 seconds.
A bit on the side
To add an extra dimension to all your outdoor cooking and entertaining, check out our wide range of flavour boosters, from Black Garlic Ketchup from Hawkshead Relish to Cottage Delight’s Hickory Smoked Barbecue Sauce that will give steaks and sausages an extra bit of sizzle.
Dish of the day
Once you’ve cooked your delicious outdoor feast, your guests will need something to eat it off, and we don’t mean flimsy paper plates, which usually mean half your food ends up sliding off onto the grass to be hoovered up by the family dog. We’re talking about the bowls, plates and platter in our suitably summery Hazy Days range. Made from durable melamine and bedecked in sunshine yellow florals set against a white background, these plates are sure to brighten up any meal – and when you’re done, just pop ’em in the dishwasher.
Stay cool
Finally, to get where you’re going with your food reliably chilled, you’re going to need a Cool Bag. Our ever-popular and super-efficient Lakeland Thermoflex Cool Bag will keep its contents chilled even in direct sunlight, while our Family Cool Bag will ensure even the biggest family can enjoy a picnic kept at the perfect temperature.
Eat, drink and be summery!
