Halloween Monster Burgers

Ingredients

Pumpkin burgers

  • mini seeded brioche bun 
  • mini beef burger 
  • medium tomatoe 
  • little gem lettuce 
  • stalk of pepper 

Monster burgers

  • mini seeded brioche bun 
  • mini beef burger1 
  • A generous helping ketchup 
  • A small amount sliced cheddar – to cut into teeth 
  • A small amount sliced gherkins – to make the tongues 
  • olives with pimento – for the eyes 

Spooky spider burgers

  • mini seeded brioche bun 
  • mini beef burger 
  • little gem lettuce 
  • sweet potato fries – for the legs 
  • sliced crinkle-cut gherkin – for the tongues 
  • mini mozzarella balls and black olives – for the eyes 

Method

  1. Pumpkin burgers: To make the pumpkin stalk, remove the stalk from the top of a pepper, cut a small hole in the top of the bun and push the pepper stalk inside. You can hold the stalk in place with a cocktail stick while you’re serving – just make sure it’s removed before any little monsters bite into it.
  2. Monster burgers: To keep the eyes in place, stick cocktail sticks into the buns and pop the olives on top. As above, make sure the cocktail sticks are removed before handing round.
  3. Spooky spider burgers: To make the eyes, cut mini mozzarella balls in half, then slice rounds from the middle of black olives and place on top. Again, you can hold these in place with cocktail sticks, as long as you remove them before serving.
