"Brilliant!" star star star star star This review is for an older version of this product I bought this yoghurt maker more than a year ago before we moved to a remote city in China and it has not let us down in 12 months of use. We are a family of 5 and I make yoghurt every 2-3 days using UHT milk and I have never had a problem with this machine or the end result. The plastic container tub is also BPA free. Thanks so much Lakeland for a brilliant product that our family could not do without!!
"A really great buy" star star star star star I bought this product a month or so ago and it has turned out great. I dont think it is work spending the extra £20 on the greek yogurt maker when all you need is a bit of muslin, a sieve and a bowl to make greek yogurt. I found by searching on the web that you can use far more powdered milk to thicken the yogurt than suggested. I currently use 50g of milk powder made up to 900ml with skimmed milk to create a nice texture in a fat free yogurt. Standing the yoghurt until its colled and then straining for 45 mins give a great creamy texture. Strain for 2 hours for greek yogurt.
"excellent buy" star star star star star We use yoghurt every day on our breakfast so we decided to buy this yoghurt maker & we're more than pleased with it. We use 900ml of uht skimmed milk & 2 tbsp of live yoghurt but the only issue we have is that there is always a lot of liquid on top. The yoghurt turns out nice & thick & tastes great.
"Perseverance is all it takes" star star star star star At first, the results were not especially appetising - a bit thin and grainy even when following all the instructions in the booklet - but, after lots of experiments, we are thoroughly happy with our new favourite gadget. I like my yoghurt very thick, but I also like to keep the fat to a minimum. So, I use skimmed UHT milk with a couple of generous spoonfuls of milk powder, a few spoonfuls of shop bought yoghurt and, after straining it the next morning, hey presto! Just don't reuse the yoghurt as a starter as the mixture gets very acidic and doesn't do the digestion any good!
"Superb!" star star star star star This machine is brilliant & so easy to use - best milk is UHT, either semi-skimmed or full fat and you just add it to the pot with a couple of teaspoons of yogurt, bought or from your previous batch, and leave it - 12 hrs is best. It says to use 900mls, but it'll take a full litre of milk no problem. It's great yogurt & can sub for crème fraiche too - saves a fortune!
