With over 60 years' experience in food preservation, you can probably guess we're not fans of throwing food away. It's a waste of good food (not to mention a complete waste of money). We love coming up with solutions to help keep your food out of the bin and on your plates. And our Lakeland StayFresh 2-Litre Produce Keeper does just that. Expertly designed to store your food in its optimal environment, this is one product that's worth its space in your fridge.
Here's how it's done…
Drains and collects excess water
The white inner basket is perforated to let excess water drip through into the transparent outer basket, which you can then pour straight down the sink. This drains your food to keep it fresh, eliminates any unwanted sogginess and prevents puddles forming in the bottom of your fridge.
Inner basket acts as a colander
You can lift the perforated inner basket out of the outer basket and use it as a colander to rinse your food before cooking or serving. The vents in the top of the lid can be opened and closed to allow more airflow, further ensuring the freshness of your food.
Outer basket acts as a water reservoir
Top tip: If you pour a little water into the bottom of the transparent outer basket, it acts as a reservoir to help prevent herbs and salad from drying out prematurely.

I was sent this product to test by Lakeland and started using the produce keeper as soon as I received it. I tried it with our abundant harvest of home grown rocket and even after 6 days the rocket had not wilted and was still great to use. Have used the stayfresh bags before but these boxes are a great improvement will definitely buy the bigger box as well.

Amazing! I love a wide variety of fresh berries but have always found that some of the fruit is ruined quite quickly after purchase, particularly in warmer weather. This 2L produce keeper which doesn't take up much room in the fridge, has solved this problem and I am now able to use all of the fruit over several days, cutting out wastage. Would definitely recommend this product.

Using this with the StayFresh sheet is proving revolutionary! A real boon! Peppers in particular stay crisp, even when cut. Other vegetables and fruit keep so much longer. So good not to waste precious food. Definitely well-worth the price and the space it takes in the fridge. Thank you, Lakeland! What about a box specifically for bananas?

I've tried the StayFresh Produce Keeper in the fridge where it keeps my strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in excellent condition for much longer. I've also used it out of the fridge for apricots and plums, where it works equally as well, and has kept the fruit flies away. I can highly recommend!
