They are designed to be used at high temperatures. And their non-stick coatings mean you only need a tiny amount of oil when cooking with one. The curved sides of a wok also mean you can stir your food around easily as you cook it – hence why it’s called stir frying – making sure it cooks evenly and without getting soggy or sticking to the pan. This all means that with a wok you can cook hot, fast, crisp, healthy meals in minutes.

Woks are synonymous with Asian cuisine. Almost every meal you can order in an Asian restaurant or find in an Asian cookbook can be prepared in a wok. That ranges from Thai curries and sweet and sour chicken, to Korean stir fry beef and egg fried rice.
