Clothes pegs & bags
Nothing quite compares with the fresh feeling of line-dried clothes against your skin, and there are loads of benefits to letting your laundry dry off in the breeze. For a start, there’s no need to wait ages for everything to dry. Peg the washing out on a sunny day and it’ll go from damp to dry in a few hours.
Then there’s the savings you can make on electricity. On average, us Brits spend between 60p and £1.50 per tumble dryer cycle, which really adds up over the course of a year. Using a clothes line is suddenly more appealing than ever before, isn’t it? We’ve got washing lines, clothes pegs, hangers and accessories all under one roof so you can start enjoying the benefits straight away.
Blown away
Hanging the washing out isn’t quite the same outdoors as it is in. If you were to drape clothes over the washing line and leave them to it, you could be blown away by what you find (or lose) later… Clothes pegs exist to prevent problems like towels taking flight, and we’ve got a great choice here at Lakeland. Wooden pegs, soft grip pegs and even strips of pegs just for smalls - you’re sure to find the strong clothes pegs you need to lasso your laundry.
Poles apart
If your washing line is looking threadbare, we can help. We’ve got clothes lines and telescopic laundry poles, as well as bundles with pegs and a peg bag to help you make savings over buying everything individually. Perhaps you prefer to hang your washing on an airer, in which case it’s well worth a look at our outdoor drying range - we’ve got fixed and freestanding rotary airers, portable clothes airers you can bring inside in bad weather, and more to choose from.
Handy hooks
What about shirts? Pegging clothes out is a great for rapid drying but not always ideal for helping some garments keep their shape. Hanger hook ups are the solution. These handy little gadgets hook over the washing line and stay firmly in place - just slot the hanger through the notched holes to dry shirts and dresses without worrying about them becoming shapeless. Unlike pegs, hanger hook ups can be placed sideways, too, so you can hang up two items from a hook and double your space. Another space-saver worth the investment in a peg airer - these hanging peg dryers hook over the line and can hold lots of small items, like socks and hankies.
In the bag
Now that you’ve stocked up on strong clothes pegs, where are you going to keep them all? Why, in a peg bag, of course. Some peg bags are designed to hang conveniently from your washing line (choose a waterproof peg bag if you’ll be storing your pegs outside) and others are made of fabric so they’re easy to wash. A peg caddy is an alternative to a bag and we’ve got plenty of handy peg baskets here at Lakeland, made from easy-to-clean plastic - look out for our peg caddies with matching pegs to get more for your money.
