And, we have to say this too, squeegees aren’t just efficient cleaning tools, they’re also great fun to use.
If you’re looking to get your hands on a home squeegee (and why wouldn’t you be?) you’re in the right place. You’ll find a varied range of squeegees for sale at Lakeland, perfect for windows, bathrooms, kitchens and more.
What are squeegees used for?
Squeegees are smooth, flexible blades, usually made from rubber that are attached to handles. They’re used to drag water across flat surfaces, most often to remove dirty water after cleaning windows. But squeegees can be used to remove water from any wet, flat surface.
The majority of the squeegees we offer at Lakeland fit this bill, but with added features like a stainless steel frames, soft grips or suction cups to allow for easy storage on smooth surfaces.
What can I use a squeegee for at home?
The chances are, you’ve most often seen squeegees used for cleaning windows. After a cleaning spray, soapy water or other window and glass cleaning products have been used, a squeegee can help to drag the water and product off the glass to leave a clean finish without leaving streaks and spots and grime.
Our home squeegees are ideal for cleaning your windows, patio doors, and other glass surfaces, both outside and inside. But they can be used to clean a huge range of other surfaces inside your home too. A good squeegee can be put to use to clean and dry any wet surface. In your bathroom, squeegees can help you clean tiles, shower cubicles and screens, mirrors, glass panels in doors, and even the bath. In your kitchen, a squeegee can help on the floor, on the front of ovens and microwaves, on glass panes in cupboards and the front of metallic fridges and freezers. In fact, there’s probably a surface in every room of your home that a squeegee can help you with.
How do I use a squeegee?
Squeegees make cleaning wet surfaces a breeze and are great fun to use too. Once you’ve washed a surface with soapy water or a cleaning product, whilst it’s still wet place the squeegee firmly against the top of the surface. Draw the squeegee down in long, steady, unbroken sweeps to collect and remove all the liquid on the surface. Once you’ve reached the bottom of the surface, drag the liquid off and into a receptacle you’ve placed below to catch it.
Some squeegees are different and use other materials in place of rubber blades, like squeegees with microfibre pads.
