"Almost good" star star star star_border star_border The quality of the scoop is great, and the mechanism does exactly what you want it to. The one big flaw of this scoop (hence the 3-star rating) is that the thumb rest for the mechanism is at 90 degrees to the handle. It's an awkward reach for anyone and strains your thumb, not comfy at all!
"Really poor design and disappointing purchase" star star star_border star_border star_border Bought this at my local branch, to replace a scoop without the trigger; it is useless as a scoop, it is not strong enough to cut through (reasonably softened) ice cream, so the trigger wasn't of any relevance. Luckily, I hadn't thrown away the old scoop. I see now that OXO have a different model for precisely this reason! Wish I had seen it before buying this. Afteralll, icecream scoops are meant to scoop out ice cream!!! support_agent A note from the team We're sorry you found this. We'll pass your comments onto the supplier.
"Design flaw" star star_border star_border star_border star_border Normally I like good grips but the trigger Ice Cream scoop was a disappointment for two reasons: 1. The design is flawed; the trigger metal is weak and bent on first use out of the packet. OXO have clearly tried to overcome this by adding a ridge in the support arm but it is not strong enough to do the job. 2. Quite pricey compared to other similar devices. I decided to purchase regardless of the price because of the Lakeland 3 year guarantee, which is quite remarkable. However OXO do need to address this materials/design defect as I did notice a similar low star customer rating. Poor show:o( support_agent A note from the team We’re very sorry to hear this. "Oxo good grips trigger ice cream scoop" star star_border star_border star_border star_border I bought this in Llanelli. I paid cash. I didn’t keep the receipt so I can’t take it back. The metal piece inside the cup doesn’t go all the way round so it’s no use. One for the bin I’m afraid. support_agent A note from the team Many thanks for placing your review. Our Buyers have advised that the design of the scoop is such that the metal part doesn't go completely around the inside of the cup. If your freezer is very cold and the ice cream’s set hard, you may find it helpful to warm the Trigger Scoop in some hot water before use.
"No use at all" star star_border star_border star_border star_border I bought this to make scooping ice cream easier than using a spoon. Alas it did not live up to expectations at all - the first time it was used the trigger bent when pressed, despite the ice cream being soft. To make matters worse, I can't find the receipt or remember the date of the visit to the store to get a refund so have just consigned it to the bin. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for placing your review. I'm sorry to hear this product has not performed well for you. Our stores will accept a bank/card statement as proof of purchase.
