"not practical" star star_border star_border star_border star_border firstly i can't get the battery cover off ,even the supplied screwdriver is inadequate. so i decided to see how it would accommodate bowls and it has become obvious that it will be difficult to see the readout unless i use smaller glass bowls which for me defeats the object of the add and weigh function support_agent A note from the team Thank you for placing your review. I'm sorry to hear they didn't meet your needs and I'll be in touch to help.
"Mostly good scales" star star star star star_border I love how these can be submerged in water to clean. The display is big and clear but unless using a small bowl, it is impossible to see because it is obscured by whatever is being weighed. The areas to press for tare and units are indicated by dark grey lettering and not a nice bright white like in the image above. So it is hard to see where to press against the black; most of the time I randomly press in the hope I am somewhere near. Once there is a container on there, they can be really difficult to access anyway. Overall they are nice scales but they are let down a bit by these two factors.
"Not really worth the extra cost" star star star star_border star_border A triumph of style over practicality - looks good (I was seduced by its appearance on "Bake Off" !) but I have been disappointed, mostly because the unit & tare buttons are invisible in the shadow of a bowl. Also, the supplied small screwdriver made no impact on the battery cover screws. However my decision to return is no reflection on Lakeland, whose customer service when I called was outstanding. 5 stars for that! support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review. We're sorry these scales haven't been suitable and we're glad we were able to put things right for you.
"Good, functional, accurate" star star star star star_border Does everything it says, however, the slight concave shape (they are not totally flat despite the description) and the controls/buttons being on the corners of the weighing surface means that weighing into large containers such as pans is slightly awkward and the display is not as visible as it could be. My old Salter scales had a separate weighing surface and the buttons and display were set well apart to the right of it - I found that was a better design but as they are no longer available I'm sure these will be minor irritations rather than major issues.
"Does exactly what it says it will!" star star star star star Easy to use, good display, wipe clean (I've not needed to submerge it for a deep clean so have yet to test its waterproof capability!), good construction, neat size making it handy to store. It does exactly what it promises to do and exactly what I need it to do.
