Lakeland Wind-Up Digital Kitchen Scale

Bought these scales a few months ago to replace battery operated digital scales. These are the worst scales I've ever used. They are slow, unresponsive, and the wind up hardly lasts anytime so as you're waiting to add more items they go off. They take ages yo show actual weight. I wished I'd returned soon after buying but bought in july and cant find the receipt now. My son who studies food and hospitality says they are awful too. I've even gone and bought new ones from a supermarket which work great. Don't waste your money.

At first, worked well apart from taking a few seconds to update but now adding say coffee doesn't always register but removing it shows -ve weight. Tare again, add coffee scale says 0g, remove and scale says -7g. Worse with heavier weights. Add and weigh totally inaccurate. Given up and replaced. Would not recommend

it has started to give incorrect readings, which makes it worse than useless. The whole point of a digital scale is to accurately measure ingredients. I can place a 250g block of butter on the scale in varying places and get a different incorrect reading each time. The scale is sensitive to extreme temperatures so put frozen foods on an upturned tub to protect the plate but now it is just so random it is no longer useable. I have had it for a few years, so it is out of warranty but I certainly expected a longer life, especially as there is no way to recalibrate in the event of a problem.

No wires, no batteries to replace, just turn the dial and weigh, good size for bowls, pans etc, absolutely love it.

The no batteries is a real bonus, the wind up is easy to use but you have to wait a few seconds for it to adjust , but this is the only negative. The scales look good take up very little room so when not in use can be stored away easily. The tare facility works well for whatever you are weighing into up to 5Kg. Overall a very good value for the cost.
