Bought to make pokeballs actually, but will be used again at Christmas! Great detail, visible in the sponge I tried first and even in the more airy/ holey Carrot cake recipe I did next. Can tell which ones I skimped in the cake-release stage though, do grease well.
These moulds are lovely, they give a great finished detail, better than I was expecting. I sprayed them with frylight sunflower oil before using and the cooked buns (baubles) popped out no bother. I would definitely recommend these for a festive alternative to cupcakes.
Decided to use this mould to experiment for Christmas chocolate desserts. Made a shell with chocolate, filled with various recipes (cheesecake, ice-cream, pastry cream with fruit in the middle, mousse etc) then finished the bottom off with chocolate. All have turned out brilliantly. Fun bit is tap with the back of a spoon to get at the creamy filling. Add some edible glitter, pile them in a dish and they look superb.
