Lakeland 7-Cup Electric Yoghurt Maker

Product number: 71068

Ensure you always have fresh yoghurt available with this simple 7-Cup Electric Yoghurt Maker which can make 7 individual pots of fresh, creamy yoghurt in as little as 8 hours and gives you the option to change the temperature setting.

How to Use

Just 100ml of plain natural yoghurt stirred into warm milk begins the transformation and our clever Yoghurt Maker does the rest. Simply add the milk and natural yoghurt, set the temperature and time then leave the machine to work its magic. Whole milk takes around 8 hours, semi skimmed takes 10 hours and skimmed milk takes 12 hours to transform into thick, creamy yoghurt. Once made, the yoghurt can be refrigerated for up to 4 days.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy your yoghurt just as it is or simply add fruit, nuts or other flavourings to tailor your treat. The handy instruction booklet includes serving suggestions and guidelines on how to bake with your yoghurt. Try it once and you’ll never go back to shop-bought.

Includes 7 x 180ml glass jars with lids as well as hints, tips and serving suggestions.

Extra jars are available.

Please note: freshly made yoghurt should be refrigerated for 3 hours before you eat it.

"Odd design but makes excellent yoghurt"

star star star star_border star_border

Most importantly it makes excellent yoghurt, every time. Easy to use, but has a relatively light and thin body with an odd display (red lights mean "on") and a "cancel" button that only works 50% of the time. Buttons need a firm press and this moves the yoghurt maker across the worksurface unless you hold it in place or wedge it against a wall. I've had no issue with the pots and have found using UHT milk the easiest way to make the yoghurt.

"Fantastic machine - why are you discontinuing it?"

star star star star star

Why this machine is being discontinued? Reconsider? It's a fantastic machine which has changed our life. I use it once a week using the last pot of yogurt and ordinary semi-skimmed milk. I found the instructions conservative (remembering my mother) - small pots keep for 7 days in the fridge and you can keep using the the last pot lots of times before buying more yogurt. It did take a couple of goes to get it right. I kept notes in the instruction booklet. I found not heating the yogurt maker, 9 hours, add yogurt at 40 degrees on thermometer and a good whisk of each pot when it was done.

"A failure"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I have tried three times to make yogurt both with fresh milk and UHT. The only pot that the yogurt has set in is the one that is in the middle of the machine, the rest have been very runny. I'm afraid it has been a complete failure for me. I can't work out where either I'm going wrong or the machine is failing.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear the electric yoghurt maker you received is faulty. We're pleased our store colleagues were able to put things right for you.

"Use longlife milk"

star star star star star

You can use long life milk, save faffing about boiling milk as its already been heat treated. It just needs a couple or tablespoons of natural live yogurt mixed with the milk, and for a thicker yogurt, add a couple of Tbs of milk powder that's been dissolved in warm water Just make sure it's all well mixed or you can end up wrth grainy yogurt. Simples. Lovely on fresh fruit aa substitute for cream.

"Lakeland yoghurt maker"

star star star star star

Really easy to use and the yoghurt is delicious and consistent in texture and set each time. At first we found that the yoghurt grew the odd mould spot on the surface after just a few days and wondered if condensation from the machine lid dropped in to the pots causing contamination. At any rate, since loosely covering the pots with their lids in the machine, we have had no further such problems. The only negative about the yoghurt maker is that the pots and lids are not dishwasher safe. That is a shame as keeping equipment as clean as possible is key to keeping the flavour from batch to batch
