Lakeland Digital Slow Cooker 6.5L

Product number: 61767

We love slow cooking for its throw-everything-in-and-leave simplicity, and the mouth-wateringly succulent results speak for themselves… but we wanted a slow cooker that was a little bit more versatile and even easier to use. And as we couldn’t find one that we wanted, we designed this one instead: our 6.5 Litre Digital Slow Cooker, with its hob-safe, oven-safe cooking pot and 24-hour delay-start timer.

Even if we do say so ourselves, it’s a brilliant bit of kit, which is why we’re very excited to be adding it to our range of own-brand electricals.

What’s in the box?

  • Stainless steel base unit – with a sleek white powder-coated finish, carry handles, simple controls and easy-read LED digital display.
  • 6.5 litre aluminium cooking pot – non-stick coated, safe to use on all hobs, including induction, and oven-safe up to 200˚C, with a working capacity of 5.5 litres.
  • Tempered glass lid with Bakelite handle – oven-safe up to 200˚C.
  • Full instruction booklet – including helpful hints, tips and four recipes.
  • Family-feeding meals made easy

A fabulously easy way to cook, nothing beats the flavour slow cooking imparts, and there’s nothing more satisfying than dishing up a piping hot, super-tasty stew or casserole when everyone gets home. Especially when it’s been cooking under its own steam all day while you’re busy doing other things. And of course, slow cookers are ideal for batch-cooking pie fillings and freezer meals too.

Use the cooking pot on the hob…

Many slow-cooking recipes begin with instructions to brown certain ingredients like meat beforehand, which often means using a separate frying pan and adding to your washing-up woes. So we’ve given this slow cooker an aluminium cooking pot with an induction-friendly base that can be used on any hob – just like a ‘normal’ pan. Once your ingredients are browned, simply place it back inside the base unit and add the rest of your ingredients.

… and in the oven

We’ve also made sure that the inner cooking pot can also go into the oven with its glass lid once your recipe has finished cooking, just like any other casserole dish.

3 heat settings

Beneath the smart white exterior the 300W element completely surrounds the cooking pot to provide consistently even cooking for your ingredients. There are three settings to choose from – HIGH (for faster results), LOW (for slower, simmered results) and WARM (heats on high until cooked, then keeps warm until ready to serve) – with preset times that show in the LED screen. And if you want to alter the timing to suit your recipe and the family’s schedule, just press the + and - buttons.

24-hour timer with start delay

For those times when you want to prep ahead, the start delay function means you can programme this slow cooker to start at any time from 30 minutes to 24 hours in advance, so your meal can be served at just the right time of day. Once the delay time is finished, it will then countdown the cooking time, so you’ll always be able to tell when your meal is ready. This feature is not suitable for meat, but perfect for veggie meals, including vegetarian stews or curries!

Easy-read LED display

We hear a lot from slow-cooking fans who occasionally forget to switch theirs on in the morning rush, so we’ve made sure there’s no doubt at all that it’s switched on – lights show which heating option you’ve selected and the digital timer is really easy to read as it counts down – so there’ll be no disappointed faces around the kitchen table come supper time.

Easy to clean

The cooking pot and its lid are both dishwasher safe, although we recommend hand-washing the cooking pot to prolong the performance of the non-stick coating. The powder-coated outer is simple to wipe clean if any spills occur when you’re dishing up.

As with all Lakeland electricals, it’s been tested, tested and tested again until we’re confident it’s more than up to the task, it’s covered by our 3-year guarantee for added reassurance – and it’s a great price too!

"Good but not long lasting"

star star star star_border star_border

This was a great thing to start with but it has not lasted so long. About 18 months old and it has stopped working. No heat at all. Capacity is large -sometimes too large for just the four of us - but is ideal if batch cooking or you have a lot of people to feed. I always find that the kid does not fit so well on the top. It feels too loose and prone to slipping into the pan if not careful with it. Those niggles aside, it was good and I was pleased with it while it was working. Just that now it no longer is.

"I have tried my best"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

This review is for an older version of this product

I have tried my best to like this slow cooker, I am now re-visiting this website (and others) as I am looking for a replacement. The lid is awful, it falls into the pot. Its not possible to use it on the induction hob because it is bowed, and the oval shape is not ideal anyway. The website fails to mention that every programme starts off at the same high heat, so its impossible to just turn it down, and if you start again, its the on the high heat! I have had this for some time and have soldiered on, but now my husband has used it a few times for his bulk curries, he is fed up with it too!

"LED display and START button failed. Shame. I loved it."

Used a few times before, this morning, the cooker failed to fully display the LED time and then to start after setting the mode and timer. Customer service Caroline was excellent in progressing the best outcome. Many thanks.

"Very disappointed"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I purchased this slow cooker to replace my Crock Pot. The lid constantly falls into the pot as it is a very poor fit. The coating on the pot chipped when the lid fell in and I feel that the pot is also too lightweight and does not sit on the hon correctly. I’m disappointed with the overall build quality and feel that the cooking temperature is too high and left food dry. I am terribly disappointed in this product.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear the slow cooker hasn't worked as you'd hoped and for the disappointment this has caused you. We've been in touch via email to offer a full refund.

"Disappointed"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I loved my original slow cooker from Lakeland and decided to upgrade to the digital so I could have even more options for timings. However, no matter what I try in there, it's always cooked far too fast. The 'slow' idea is completely useless as the low setting doesn't even seem to be low enough. I fill to the top and try and cook slow for 6 hours but the food is dry and overcooked. Completely misses the point.
