50m Lakeland Telescopic Rotary Airer
Product number: 53307
A bit of sunshine with a gentle breeze is a godsend on laundry day, and the best way to make the most if it is by pegging out onto a rotary clothes airer.
With a whopping 50m of drying space, our Lakeland Telescopic Rotary Airer can hold up to 30kg of laundry – so drying a couple of washing loads at once is a doddle. And because it’s height adjustable, it couldn’t be easier to load.
What you get
Height adjustable and easy to load
With plenty of room between the lines, and a fully adjustable telescopic pole, you can set the airer at a working height that’s best for you, and easily change it when needed by using the lock catch. When you’ve got bedding to dry, you’ll be really happy to have that extra bit of height.
And of course it spins all the way around, so you can load up the lines from one spot without having to move a heavy basket of wet washing around. It’s often the little details that make the difference – like the loops on the end of each arm, perfect for drying a jacket or shirt on a coat hanger.
No concreting needed
With some rotary airers, you need to buy a ground spike separately, or concrete the airer into the ground – both a faff you don’t need. Our great value airer comes with a sturdy plastic ground spike and a metal rod to help you screw it securely into position on your lawn.
Lightweight and easy to move
As fantastically handy as they are, sometimes you need to pop your airer away and claim the lawn back for other things. No problem. Fold the arms in and the locking system will hold them in place – then pop the included cover on to keep things neat. The frame is made from lightweight aluminium, so if you need to move the airer to the garage, it’s easy to lift from the ground spike and carry.
The washing lines can be wiped clean and the tension clip lets you shorten the line and make it tighter if needed.
50m drying space – maximum load 30kg. Telescopic pole adjusts from 1.52m to 1.98m. Fully open 189 x 189 x 203cm H. Folds to 12.5 x 12.5 x 172cm H. 2.65m turning circle. 3.28kg.

So pleased to have this, so easy to install and wonderful to have line-dried washing again!!!
I bought this as a Christmas present. I have a similar model and I am happy with it.
The instructions say to pour a bucket of water over the location site and then screw the spike into the ground. This was done successfully however just screwing the spike into the ground is not substantial enough or strong enough to hold the washing. I haven’t even used this yet, but it has become lopsided already. I am now having to cement the spike into the ground so the Airer can hold all my washing without it being dislodged!
I would have happily given this 5 stars but the arm catch is very, very stiff. I have broken nails trying to lock it in place. I will test it a few more weeks to check if it gets any easier but currently it is very difficult to lock in place.
This review is for an older version of this product
I bought this about 6 months ago it is the worst airer I have ever had, everything I have bought from Lakeland has been great but this is just so cheap and cheerful I’m so disappointed with it to the point I am buying a new brabantia one as it’s what I had before. The Airer is hard to get up and when it is up the lines are still loose and are very thin so the pegs don’t get a good grip, the cover is hard to get on luckily enough I am tall so manage it ok. I hate giving bad reviews but felt I had to as it wasn’t cheap to buy and as I say everything I usually buy from Lakeland is great
