If you love the freshness of line-dried laundry but don’t have room for a permanent rotary airer, or don’t want one constantly ruining your view of the garden (they’re super-useful, but even their biggest fans can’t argue that they’re lovely to look at!), then our Free-Standing Rotary Airer might be just what you’re looking for.
What’s in the box?
Put it up anywhere…
Made of lightweight aluminium, this compact rotary washing line is really easy to carry out into your garden and position wherever you want it. Once you’ve chosen the best flat spot – sunny, windy, out of sight – set up the legs and lock them into position, using the ground pegs to help hold it stable if you’ve put it on your lawn. Slot the top unit neatly into the base and click it into place, then remove the hook and loop strap and slide the arms up into the ‘open’ position.

Providing 19 metres of drying space, with plenty of room between the lines, it will comfortably hold a full load of washing. Like all ‘proper’ rotary airers it spins all the way round, helping your laundry dry faster and making it easy to load from one spot. The washing lines can be easily wiped clean and the tension clip lets you shorten the line and make it tighter if needed.
… and store it neatly away when you’re done
When the weather turns against you, or you just want to enjoy all of your garden, it’s just as easy to take down, and stores neatly away into the included storage bag, ready to stash in a garage or cupboard until it’s needed again.

Just received this & “Wow” it’s absolutely amazing !! I love it!! Even comes with four pegs to secure into ground if windy day .. absolutely made up with it & really good quality too - well done Lakeland
This line is brilliant, very useful at the caravan. Easy to put up and down. I bought 4 strong tent pegs to replace the slim ones provided and it has stayed up in strong winds. It packs up easily into it's carry case for easy compact storage. I'd definitely recommend it!
I wanted to use this on concrete which meant I would not be able to use the anchor hooks that come with it. Instead I got an old heavy metal base from a garden umbrella and secured it to that. Result I now have a very stable rotary washing line. For its size it takes a lot of washing which is great. Just make sure you distribute the weight evenly. I haven't used it on grass so can't say how well the anchor hooks work. Its quite stiff to push up the arms but I would guess it has to be in order to get the right amount of tension in them. Would I buy again ? Definitely
Love this item, easy to put up - easy to move around the garden. Stays up in windy conditions.
As the layout of my garden changed I needed a compact and mobile washing line. The rotary airer fitted the bill perfectly. Easy to set up and take down it’s also surprisingly strong and copes in windy conditions. A great product that means I can cut back on tumble dryer use.
