Garden Groom Midi

I am amazed by the negative reviews. I have found my Garden Groom a godsend for use on my privet hedge. As a female arthritic pensioner, I find it lighter, easier to use, quicker and much safer than my previous electric hedge-cutter. Not having to sweep up the cuttings is a further bonus, and I would be lost without it. It does, however, require a different action from the usual cutter - best described perhaps as 'leaning into' the hedge (which also means it further reduces the weight) rather than skimming across the top.

This product did not live up to its description in the catalogue. It is not easy to use and does not cut well - it requires the user to go over the same hedge several times in order to get a neat cut. The user also need to be fairly strong and able to use this product not at all suitable for anyone who is not fully fit. The plus side is that the trimming are collected so no need to sweep up afterwards. All in all though disappointing.

I bought this for my husband's birthday and what a terrible waste of money and expensive disappointment. As a senior I thought it would make life easier for him. I understood it was supposed to be an easier,safer, more convenient option to the usual hedge cutter. It really doesnot cut!! He has spent all day trying to trim a small hedge which was done in minutes with his old traditional cutter. Because it was so slow it became heavy to use. It barely slices off anything and then only by holding it still in one spot where it might tear off a few leaves.I wish I could send it back and have a refund but of course it has been used. What am I to do??? I am a very unhappy customer!
