"Loved the idea, but everything sticks!" star star star star_border star_border I bought my Cobb a few years back, when Lakeland first had them, but from the beginning, everything I put on the grill-plate, mostly sausages and burgers, stuck fast to the 'non-stick' surface, burnt on and fell apart when prized off. Over several goes at it, I tried oiling it first, using charcoal as it didn't seem to burn so hot as the cobblestones, but nothing worked. Even the dishwasher didn't get the residue off the grill-plate, so I haven't bothered to get it out for the last couple of years. Not sure if my grill plate was faulty, or if it's worth trying to get a new one and try again. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear of your experience with the grill plate. If this is still under guarantee, please get in touch with us with your order details and we'll be happy to help further. Alternatively, you may wish to try and source a replacement part from Cobb directly.
"My first Cobb" star star star star star I have had my Cobb now for several weeks and tried cooking a roast , steaks & a slow roast lamb shank as well as sausages, bacon & veggies. It is very easy to light and economical with charcoal briquettes. Whilst you do not get the smoke & flame effect of a traditional bbq unless you buy the bbq kit it does cook extremely well. A smoky flavour is easily achieved by adding wood chips or even twigs to the burning coals. If you want to cook "dirty steaks & bbq items" i.e over an open flame then this is not the one to buy, but it does such a range of cooking that it is a great buy.
"Very neat and compact" star star star star star_border Ideal for taking on trips in the camper van. Quality item! Pricey, but worth it!
"Outstanding portable BBQ" star star star star star # Lightweight and portable so ideal for a day out, camping, at home etc # Totally cold around the sides and bottom so very safe. Can therefore be used on any surface. # Cooking oil/fat is channelled to the sides so no flare ups. # Can start cooking almost immediately and continues for two hours. # Brickettes convenient. Uniform heat. Easy to dispose of. # Teflon cooking surface or s/s rack. And cover for smoking food. # Handy tools. # Relatively easy to clean as stainless steel.
"Versatile Outdoor cooking" star star star star star You cannot beat outdoor cooking and eating alfresco. This is an amazing, space saving and innovative product that cooks your food to perfection with very little effort. When there are only two of you this is perfect and prevents cooking too much food. Simple to set up and easy to use. We used the cobbs. My only slight criticism is the burning of the cobbs once you've finished cooking. Question: Can you reheat the cobbs after first use and could you use half a cobb if only cooking a small amount. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for placing your review and we're pleased to hear how much you enjoy using the Cobb. We've checked for you and the Cobblestone can’t be re-lit after first use but it can be broken in half for lower temperatures and shorter cooking times. Thanks again.
