Our first attempt with the ice cream maker didn’t work as the bowl was not fully frozen. Once the bowl is completely frozen, the ice cream is simple to make and delicious. It’s great to be able to make it with just a few ingredients and no nasty additives!
I’m afraid I only gave 3 stars ,as initially I came across a problem for me , the bowl wouldn’t fit in my freezer, as it was too big, so I went to my daughters as it would fit in hers.Also after the recommended time it said, it was still very runny, so I gave it another 5 to 10 mins, then it was fine.We got about 2 cones filled nicely, then the rest of the ice cream had to be scooped out because the machine stopped running and the ice cream wouldn’t come out, as it was too thick. I will be giving it a try again , and not leave it as long. It does make nice ice cream ……..

With this ice cream maker you get a bowl that you have to freeze for 18-24 hours before each use (evey time). The bowl has a hole in the bottom and when you come to empty it you have to release all the melted ice cream into a dish first... I say melted because it really did not freeze well at all because the moment you get it out of the freezer it starts to thaw, so on hot days or days where you have the heating on, after the 20-30mins making time it says it takes, it hasn't done a good job. Also, the top has no lid so things can fall or fly in as it is mixing. Long and disappointing process.
As with most ice cream makers the bowl needs to be frozen overnight unless you buy one with a compressor; we currently sell a Lakeland compressor ice cream maker, ref 33397 which might be more suitable. The ice cream is made quickly once added to the frozen bowl. The hole is needed to let the ice cream out, it’s a soft serve machine so the ice cream can easily come out of the machine into the cone or bowl. If the ice cream maker isn’t going to be suitable you can return it the store with your receipt and they’ll be happy to help.
