Carrs Sourdough Flour Mix 500g

Product number: 33385

Nothing is better than making your own bread at home and thanks to this Sourdough Bread Mix from Carr's, making your own delicious sourdough bread couldn't be easier. Sourdough is a fermented product, made using a live culture of probiotics - bacteria that benefit your gut - and is lower in sugar and higher in protein than other breads. Normal sourdough recipes require a starter, but this premium white bread mix has a dried rye sourdough culture inside, allowing you to make delicious light sourdough bread in a bread machine without the need for a high-maintenance sourdough starter.

Carr's 170 years of bread-making experience has gone into these mixes, and the proof is in the full flavour and wonderful, light texture that's easily achieved - not to mention the numerous compliments they've received from celebrated cooks.

This mix contains the exact amount to bake a 700g loaf, and we're pleased to say they're made in Silloth, here in Cumbria.

"Excellent for making pizza dough"

star star star star star

I use this to make pizza dough - one 500g bag makes approx 4 x 200g pizza bases. I make mine by hand and cook in an Ooni Fyra and couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.

"Love this Breadmix"

I bought two packs and am so happy with the result. I let the Breadmaker do the mixing etc then took the dough and then placed it in two loaf tins after it had proved again. Then left to prove yet again and baked. The result was fantastic and it tastes better than the Sourdough bread from the artisan bakers. Just about to order four more bags.

"Sourdough bread at last"

Been trying sourdough bread from SD starters for sometime No Luck. I tried this Carrs SD bread mix & eventually i have my own SD bread. Yummy

"Delicious"

First bread made in my new Lakeland breadmaker. Instructions for the maker said to use a ready made mix for the first bake. So, this was the one I chose and my first ever home made bread. It was very good. Froze well and made food toast !

"Very handy for Breadmaker."

I bought this to try in my new bread maker. I wasn’t very sure about the different programme settings so accidentally baked the first few loaves on the sourdough setting which is 5 hours instead of 2 and a half hours. The settings didn’t allow me to change the size or crust colour but What came out was a lovely well aerated loaf with a very crisp crunchy crust which my husband loved. Since then I have baked a few more packs on the bread mix setting - the correct setting- but have reverted to the 5 hours progranmme as I think the bread rises better and seems equally nice. Just a thought!
