Lakeland Digital Ice Cream Maker 1.8L

Product number: 33037

We all love ice cream, that’s a given. But when it’s home-made from scratch, you get all the satisfaction of having made it yourself, with the benefit of knowing exactly what’s gone into it. And with our Digital Ice Cream Maker, you can do it in as little as 40 minutes!

With a transparent lid so you can see the magic happen before your very eyes, it’s a great activity to do with the kids on a rainy day – because who says ice cream is just for sunny days? The easy-to-use LED display makes it really easy to use and the anti-slip base means it won’t travel around your worktop while it’s churning.

How to use

Freeze the bowl for 12 hours in advance, remove from the freezer and then pop on the lid. Ensure your ice cream maker is turned on and use the arrow buttons below the digital display to set the running time between 5 and 45 minutes. Add your cooled ingredients through the opening in the lid, ensuring the paddle is turning whilst the mixture is added. Extra ingredients can be added through the lid during churning. Ice creams, sorbets and frozen yoghurts will be churned to silky-smooth perfection in next to no time.

7 delicious recipes included.

As with all Lakeland electricals, it’s been tested, tested and tested again until we’re confident it’s more than up to the task, is covered by our 3-year guarantee for added reassurance, and is a great price too!

"Disappointed"

star star star_border star_border star_border

Looks good, but like others have said, the gap to put ingredients in is very small, and so much of the ice cream freezes solid on the sides and base - even though I always have the machine on before I pour anything in. I also find the way the top fits difficult.

"good ice cream, messy to use"

star star star star star_border

my first ice cream maker and I'm already using it regularly, very happy with the results. I must add my voice to those complaining how small the slot is into which you must pour the mixture while the machine is turning, I cannot find any way that it is not super messy and a little wasteful for the spillage. And if you want to add bits in your icecream, only tiny ones would go through the slot, like chocolate chips say, but when I tried pieces of meringue it was very tricky! I see one reviewer said they use a funnel - perhaps you could provide one with the machines?

"Fun, small and easy to use"

This is our first ever ice cream maker so I cannot compare it to others. I like the small size and simplicity and, of course, experimenting with flavours.

"Could be better"

Same as previous reviewer. Even after following all the instructions, the mixture initially freezes and sticks solidly to the sides and bottom of the bowl before mixing the remainder to a good consistency. It is then really difficult to remove the ice cream that is stuck. Luckily I have a stiff plastic spatula which I use to remove it but it is a real struggle and comes off as a completely solid layer that I then have to chop up to mix in with the rest of the mixture! A shame as an otherwise good machine. Customer service were lovely as always, but there seems to be no solution.

Thank you for your review and for taking the time to speak to my colleague. We hope our tip to try turning the paddle on for one minute before pouring the mixture in very slowly works for you. If you decide the ice cream maker isn't for you please just let us know.
