Lakeland Silicone Double Oven Glove

I've had these for years and disliked them since I first used them. I'm not sure why I didn't bother returning them. They don't do much in protecting my hands from heat. It's fine to take something out of the oven, and putting it down within seconds, but absolutely useless if you need to hold a hot pan for 30 seconds or so. It's also frustrating to need to put them on the right way round (to accommodate thumbs), instead of sliding your hand into the traditional square type. Finally ordering myself some traditional oven gloves and getting rid of these.

These silicone oven gloves are fantastic. Obviously they allow you to hold really hot things but the fabric joining the two gloves is so much longer than previous oven gloves it makes handling things so much easier. I wish I had tried them early. A real kitchen game changer!

The product description says the glove is machine washable. True, but the label inside the glove says only up to 10 times. So presumably after 10 washes they’ll start to fall apart and you’ll have to buy a new pair, just not from Lakeland!

I purchased these as my previous pair were damaged and worn over many years of use. I love the silicone pattern of the gloves however, the hand are slightly small that the previous pair and also shorter in length. It's a shame I didn't see them prior to purchase but my local store has recently closed and had to buy online. It will take a while but I will get used to them i'm sure.

Just one criticism - they tend to "stick" to the item you are removing from the oven so you have to be careful when pulling your hands away from the item, that they are not stuck and you are going to be pull the hot tray/contents all over you/the floor!
