Lakeland Heat Shield Gloves

These are excellent. It's good to be able to comfortably put something on my hands that has no chance of slipping off and also protects my wrists if I have to reach a little further into the oven. Other reviewers have mentioned they are quite big and this is true. I wear a size 8/9 for gloves and they are a little long in the fingers so not for small hands. They are also good for using as a non slip base under a bowl and great for getting a grip on a reluctant jar lid. Instructions say they can only be washed ten times. I can't imagine what happens when they are washed eleven times!

I nearly didn't buy these after reading reviews as I have small hands. I needed them to replace my old white gloves. I went ahead and ordered and am very happy with them. Non slip and size doesn't matter. The funny thing is that my husband who has giant hands keeps saying these are a bit big!! He still uses them happily.

I have a pair of the previous gloves which needed replacing. Great gloves, much easier to use than traditional oven gloves that are joined together. I also bought my daughter in law a pair. Her husband ( my son) has been converted to them. When he saw my original pair he said that they looked like gardening gloves. However he is using the gloves now.

I am disappointed to read the negative reviews for these gloves so I am jumping to their defence! I bought them to replace my previous Lakeland gloves and I declare that these new ones are even better! Although I am male, I have small hands and I don't find them too big at all. The little grippers on them are brilliant as they prevent items slipping out of your hand. Their heat resistance is excellent as well and I can comfortably hold on to a baking tray which has just come out of a 200 degrees C oven. Well done, Lakeland! Please don't discontinue these as I'll probably want some more.

Having fingers make using this item much safer to use as mature joints struggle with gripping things .Also really useful when jam making being able to grip a jar very securely and put the lids on , and delving into the depths of the chest freezer will no longer be a finger numbing experience .
