Lakeland Rotary Grater and Slicer

This rotary grater is a fabulous item. The three interchangeable grating cones are very efficient, I thought they were made purely of plastic but the cutters are actually metal. I have tried the fine and coarse graters on cheese and it powered through, creating a nice chunky texture - perfect for scones. With the fine blades, I also tried a carrot - again powered through and no scraped knuckles. The slicer created perfect cucumber slices - am going to try potatoes next. As a person with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, I can say this is a perfect gadget.

Fantastic for grating cheese, and easier to use than a standard grater, with no chance of inavertantly slicing finger tips. Would have given 5 stars except for the fact that it is a bit fiddly to clean.

A very capable little grater. We use it to make coleslaw. It has managed to grate pretty much everything we have thrown at it. Good value and does the job but I wouldn’t say it’s a premium device hence 4 stars.

Thought this would be a better option than my current grater but unfortunately not. Whilst it had good adhesion on the work surface it was extremely difficult to rotate the knob to release and I have no dexterity problem. Being right handed I would have preferred to have the handle on the right but unfortunately this can only be achieved by turning the unit and therefore the release knob is at back. Returned the item as not for me.

After cutting my fingers several times (instructions not very clear) I finally managed to test it on a lump of cheese! It sliced fairly well and grated well too, but trying to get all the cheese out of the grater teeth was almost impossible and I had to use an old toothbrush, so the birds got at least a tablespoon of cheese! A brush supplied with this product would be an enormous help. I also had a lot of problem securing it to the worktop as I am elderly and not strong and it really needs Tarzan to turn the securing knob! I would not recommend this to anyone without strong hands.
