These are really useful little bowls that I use all the time, every day without fail when preparing vegetables , salads, fresh fruits etc. I love that they are dishwasher proof. Two of the bowls have little holes on the rim, to pull fresh herbs, such as thyme stalks through, to strip the leaves off, and the other two have a rough area on the base ( that I've not tried ) for mincing garlic or fresh ginger . I love them! Simple , practical and really handy.
