"Excellent" star star star star star I bought this for my daughter who makes toasted sandwiches in her toaster. She loves this!
"Better than expected" star star star star star I was a bit worried after reading some of these reviews so thought I would add my experience. My toasted crimpit turned out perfectly & was very tasty. I just popped it in the toaster using the mesh holder. I used grated cheese & tomatoes & the cheese did melt in just a toaster. I used medium sliced bread & the only little issue I had was trying to line up the top with the bottom when there are 2 slices of bread in it, otherwise it was simple to use & does work to produce a really nice toasted sandwich.
"To much wastage" star star star star_border star_border Makes nice toasties but rather fiddly to use. You have to be careful that you place the fillings inside the crimping teeth otherwise it won't seal. The filling does not get very hot and food like cheese doesn't melt. You need to microwave the toastie first before toasting it if you want melted cheese. After crimping, there's a great deal of wasted bread. I would suggest that using a dry frying pan with the toastie buttered on the outside or an electric toastie press gives better results.
"Too small" star star_border star_border star_border star_border This is too small for a average sliced loaf. There is too much bread wasted. It could be brilliant if it was only larger.
