2 Jar Opener Lid Grippers

The Jar openers are brilliant for both jars and bottles. Also useful to take on holiday.

I bought some of these from Lakeland a few years ago when they were a lilac/mauve sort of colour and thought they were great. Unfortunately, for some reason I decided to put them in the dishwasher and they came out a bit hard and didn’t work anymore. I bought a different make from a hardware shop which were smaller and useless so was pleased when I found these on Lakeland. However, although they are a help I don’t feel that they are quite as effective as the previous ones I bought from Lakeland as the grip doesn’t seem quite as good but I still find them very useful.

Work well for opening jars and bottles. Take up very little room so handy to have in a kitchen drawer.

I've had a set of this type of jar gripper for years and they were brilliant however as both were getting a bit worse for wear I indulged in a new set. I have no idea why but they are useless, they just don't grip. I ended up using both of them together and finally managed to get a lid off without having to ask my husband to open the jar. I struggle to open jars and bottles and always use a gripper to very good effect.... unfortunately not these. I will need to source a new set from elsewhere I'm sorry to say.

These just don’t do the job of gripping. Years ago, I bought the purple ones which were okay but not the best. Please offer something which works for those of us with weak, arthritic hands. Grippers used to be made of rubber and I think the widespread change to silicone is the problem. I’ve tried cutting a piece of ‘Lakeland Slip A Grip’ as an alternative but it’s not much better.
