Prue’s World Ceramic Casserole Dish with Self-Basting Lid 1.9L

Product number: 26444

Carefully designed to Prue Leith’s exacting specifications, our Prue’s World Ceramic Casserole Dish is a beautiful piece of oven-to-table cookware. And as it’s made from a heat- and flame-resistant ceramic, it’s perfect for hob-top cooking too.

It’s not just good to look at though; the lug-shaped handles make it easy to lift in and out of the oven, and the lid has been carefully crafted with nodules that help any condensation droplets return to your food as it cooks, keeping almost all the moisture inside so your dish won’t dry out.

A perfect partner for the Prue’s World Bamboo Steamer, this lovely cooking pot will tackle all kinds of cuisine, from slow-cooked stews to exotic Asian dishes and steamed dim sum.

Please note: because it is made from ceramic, this casserole dish is not suitable for induction hobs.

About our Prue’s World range

We tell anyone who’ll listen – we love to cook and can think of nothing better than finding creative, authentic kitchen tools that make cooking a joyful experience. So when Prue Leith approached us to collaborate on an exciting new range inspired by her trips around the world, we thought all of our birthdays had come at once!

Prue has been everywhere. She’s had an amazing life of cookery and adventure, and her culinary voyages have been a huge influence in this range’s creation. As well as being a passionate chef, founder of Leiths School of Food and Wine, TV personality, restaurateur and writer, she’s a globetrotter with a love of foods from afar, and the cookware in her own kitchen has been cherry-picked from her trips around the world.

A self-confessed Lakeland fan, Prue invited us into her home and we were like children in a sweet shop, exploring her vast, eclectic cookware kit for inspiration. Her wonderful stories behind each piece, as well as Prue’s exacting guidance, has resulted in a range that’s as interesting and colourful as Prue herself.

Prue says “I want everyone to experience the pleasure and satisfaction of producing food to share with others.” Prue tested every item herself to ensure everything worked as it should, and if something wasn’t quite right, she helped us make it perfect.

Made from attractive crushed bamboo zebra wood, ceramics and durable metals, everything in Prue’s global cookware collection is practical enough for everyday use, and will work brilliantly for all of your own culinary adventures. Accented with a pop of vibrant red, they make fabulous gifts for creative cooks, too.

"Don’t burn!"

star star star star_border star_border

I loved this casserole dish - until I let something burn on the bottom. I managed to clean it but that area is now very susceptible to food burning. I need to stir far more often.

The pot looks great and cooks quite well on the stovetop, but not as good as an enamel and cast iron pot I needed to replace. The design is very poor. Because there is a rim all around the actual dish it is very difficult to remove all cooked food and liquid. Casseroles have the rim around the lid for a reason. If I had realised before I used it I would have returned it. Has Pru Leith actually used it?

"Pretty Dish and "does what it says on the tin""

star star star star star

The description of this Dish is spot on as it looks very nice. We did have a quality issue with our first dish which was quickly sorted out by Lakeland Customer Service who replaced the product without any quibbles. Excellent service from them on the phone and by email (our shop is currently closed during Lockdown). The replacement dish is very good and is great to use from hob to oven - and then to table if you want to!

"Lovely pot"

This pot is attractive and practical. Looks lovely when taken from oven to table. Just the right size for dishes for two people. I'd love it in a larger size as well.
