Worktop Compost Bin Cream 3.5L

I bought this as I have a kitchen diner and am not fond of the look of the other style and thought this was a tad more elegant. However I have yet to open it and not have flies come out of it. I'm sure they get in via the holes on the top and then next in the filter. It is quite unpleasant as mine is next to my hob where I cook. I have only had a few months and empty it a few times a week and it is certainly not wearing as well as the last one I bought from Lakeland many years ago. So sorry Lakeland one star from me

I bought this as I had the red version previously. It is the right size for my window ledge and holds a reasonable amount of compost before needing emptying. I was disappointed the red version was not available as I preferred the colour. The only reason I needed a new one was I put the lid in hot water to clean it and the paint turned a milky colour. It is both practical and looks good.

I purchased my bin about 3 years ago and it’s turned out to be a bad buy. The filter didn’t stay in so I threw it away. It’s going rusty and it very hard to clean the inside. Also, the letters are coming off. But my main bugbear is the handle. It keeps coming out of the slots, usually when I’m halfway up the garden to empty it into my big compost heap! For the money it’s not worth it - a shoddy product in my opinion.

I would not be without this. It's a perfect size, the handle size makes opening easy, even with wet hands & there is absolutely NO smell from the contents. Brilliant product Lakeland

I bought this several months ago to replace the unsightly plastic container perched on my worktop collecting all my scraps.It has looked smart, has a good capacity and I have not run into any problems mentioned by other reviewers and a nice strong handle has been brilliant for carrying all my bits and pieces down to the chickens !! However over the last few weeks the writing is slowly smudging and disappearing. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to future compost collectors.
