Our Boiled Egg Topper neatly cuts around the top of your egg so you’ll never have to contend with sneaky bits of shell again.Easy to use, just sit this stainless steel topper onto your boiled egg, pull the ball and let it ‘clack’ down on the shell. When you lift it back off, it leaves a perfect cut all round the top of the shell ready for you to remove.
Suitable for hen and duck eggs.

The egg topper does not work very effectively. It looks simple to use but it is difficult to ‘perfect the technique’ and you end up with shell in your egg.

I have to confess, I could not work out how to use it until my husband showed me, LOL, but now I know how to use it I love it. Great on cold and hot boiled eggs. For me a game changer, great gadget, and I do love a kitchen gadget.
I also have had trouble with the ball on the top coming off. It has happened twice now and I am really disappointed as I thought the gadget was super when it worked.

Bought this egg topper for my husband and has been an instant hit and would score higher than 3. However, unfortunately after only 3 months of use the ball has come off the top so we can’t use it. Customer service kindly provided a replacement but this one has broken again in a shorter time period. Please find a better way to connect the mechanism

Great design. Works very well for as long as it lasts but then the ball drops off after about four weeks (using it on 4 eggs a day). I am on my third egg topper from Lakeland ... and the ball has again just severed itself. It is the weak weld between the ball and the sprung rod inside that is the problem. It is simply badly welded. I am hoping that all three egg toppers I have had so far come from the same bad batch. I shall be returning to Lakeland for my fourth egg topper replacement.
We were sorry to learn that the ball drops off and is badly welded - we haven’t had any other reports of this issue so we're hoping you've just been unfortunate. We'd also advise not to put the egg topper in the dishwasher as it’s not dishwasher safe.
