Producing small strands of grated food that blend into your soups, stews and purées, this razor-sharp, coarse Microplane Grater is perfect for making shreds of cheese, carrot, garlic, ginger, coconut and onions with minimum effort. You could also use it to grate pears or apples for baby food, sprinkle Parmesan onto soup or pasta and to rustle up a refreshing ginger tea.

"Best grater ever"

After using this grater I have thrown away my old one

This is a wonderful grater, easy to use and keep clean. I would highly recommend it.

"Have they fixed the handle problem yet?"

I have bought a number of these because I love the grater part. Sharp and stays sharp. Absolutely brilliant. But EVERY SINGLE ONE I have bought eventually fails with the handle coming away from the head. The glue fails and the body of it slides away. The glue used is clearly not dishwasher proof.

"Quality grater set in useless plastic handle"

As the other reviewers have said, the frame and handle of this grater are cheap plastic. The blade is good and would probably last for years, but they don't have the chance because the frames break quite quickly. This is the second one that has broken on me: I had a refund for the first one - excellent customer service from Lakeland as usual - but unfortunately I think I have lost the receipt for this one.

"Utter Rubbish!"

Why have 'Microplane' changed their design? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! My old Microplane with the metal frame is still going strong after years of use. This one is utter rubbish! The cheap plastic used in this 'upgrade' just completely collapsed after only 6 months of use. Avoid buying this product.
