"Outstanding!" star star star star star I bought the Mini Sandwich Tin over two years ago, and have enjoyed great success with baking individual sponge cakes, as per your recipes, for my children, grandchildren and neighbours. This week, however, I ventured into the realm of baking fruit cakes for the very first time. Such was my lack of self-confidence, I apologised to my darling husband, in advance, for the initial outlay for the various ingredients - and the anticipated abysmal failure, but, no need! They were absolutely scrumptious. No doubt, the first of many! Cheers! Lakeland!
"Sandwich cake heaven" star star star star star This mini sandwich cake maker is a dream to use once a technique for getting the cakes from the tins has been worked out. Nothing sticks and everything comes out looking as if it were bought in a shop...ideal for my holiday cottage guests...although I do always tell them I have made them! ...they wouldn't believed me, otherwise! Try different topping and fillings to ring the changes. A delight to use.
"Great Cakes!" star star star star star I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews for this product HOWEVER I made 2 batches of beautiful mini cakes and they were a great hit with the adults and the kids! Defo use cake release and they are a doddle.
"Great Quality Tin" star star star star star I was actually in the process of mixing a Victoria sandwich cake when the delivery man knocked at the door with my Parcel of goodies from Lakeland. I hurriedly opened the parcel to get my Mini sandwich cake tin, never bothered reading the instructions just buttered the tin threw a bit of flour in, through a sieve of course, just to coat lightly put in my cake mix and cooked. they didn,t all rise the same shape, but I dont care they came out lovely, tasted good and I cant wait to use it again. The quality is exceptional, typical of lakeland in my opinion.
"Potentially Perfect" star star star star star Had a baking day today and yes,the tin is fiddly compared to producing one traditional/whole cake but they look impressive and fun. Greased v lightly with the butter paper and used the waxed jam discs from Lakeland in the bases. Pushed the cakes out after 2 minutes removing the metal and paper discs at the same time.WORKS I used 3 eggs weighing 150g and matched that with butter sugar and SR flour, adding a tsp tepid water to soften the mixture. I filled 12 smoothing the tops dipping the middles to prevent peaks. 170 fan oven for 14 mins. Great but a bit dry compared to a whole cake.Any ideas?
