"Great idea but too light"

star star star_border star_border star_border

This is great for roasting lamb shanks, chicken breasts, sausages etc., and the lid prevents soiling the oven! However, it is far too light. Because the lid has little or no lip to grip when removing it to baste the food, it can and does slide the wrong way which could be dangerous trying to save it! Also, the non stick coating was never good even when new, and I have now resorted to scrubbing it which is not easy with the dimpled base and not what I expected. I thought as I loved the idea so much, I would try the larger one thinking it would be heavier and better made, but on reading the similar review I have now changed my mind. Lakeland please could you supply a heavier one with better non stick and a safer lid to remove? I would gladly pay the extra for a good quality easy to clean safer model and would love it in either size! :O)

"Thumbs up for Chop Roaster"

I purchased one of these around 3 years ago for my mini oven which I use in my motorhome. It's been so great that I have returned to buy another to use in doors. I was a bit suprised at the previous review and felt compelled to write....I've used it exstensively, not just for chops but for all types of cooking including bread and butter pudding and roasted veg etc. I have never had trouble cleaning it and look forward to receiving my new one...thanks

"What a pity!"

The small chop roaster can be used for far more things than chops very successfuly, BUT the lining on the dimpled side began to come off quite soon, especially on the dimples themselves, despite having been washed with great care. As a temporary measure before getting a replacement I find one can use the roaster upside down, that is using the dimpled side as the lid so the food is not placed on the bald patches.

"Dimpled side failure"

star star star_border star_border star_border

I am on my second Small Lidded Chop Roaster, and like the previous reviewers, the nonstick coating is coming off the dimpled side once again. I am still using the item, with foil on the base.

Thanks for placing your review. I'm sorry that the roaster has disappointed you. I'll be in touch shortly to help.

"Love it, but ..."

As others have said I find that the non-stick is peeling from the base. However, because it's the only one I've found so far that fits into my tiny oven I'm having to order another one. I just hope the coating has improved since my last purchase.
