I was looking for a suitable small, lidded pot for use in the microwave and as there was a special offer on also ordered this. It gets used mostly for microwaving fish. My main concern was that it would be difficult to clean, but it cleans very easily. I haven't had any problems with cracking and so far am very pleased with it.
I bought the small lidded saucepan and then the casserole dish. I find both really useful, although like other reviewers both items cracked on the bottom quite quickly. They don't leak though, and I still use them regularly. I would like to see a similar product suitable for steaming fillets of fish. I often cook steamed salmon fillets for tea, and have to cook 2 at a time in the casserole dish. A rectangle shape dish could take 4 fillets side by side so I could cook them all together.
We do sell papillote steaming dishes for use in the microwave. Their reference numbers are: 11660, 12179, 12178.
I love this casserole dish, I use it most days & so far I have had no problems with it.It's just the right size, it washes well (top of dishwasher only) and it always look as good as new.I was going to buy a second one but sadly sold out...
I really like these dishes and have just ordered my 4th as sadly they do not last very long. They develop cracks down from the side of the handles, around the centre of the lid and become unuseable. I have lost 2 this way.
I apologise for the trouble you've been put to and I'll be in touch to try and rectify the problems you've had. Polycarbonate is dishwasher safe, however to prolong the life span of the product we would advise that it washed by hand.
Please don't give up on these dishes. I know that they don't last forever, 12 months regular use is about the norm I have found but they simply are the best microwave cooking dishes around.
