There’s nothing like home-made ice cream, but when you want instant indulgence it’s no good having to wait hours for everything to freeze. Chef’n’s ‘magic’ slab is set to cut that time from hours to – wait for it – minutes! Store it in your freezer ready for that ice cream moment then just pour on some of your mixture, scoop and blend for a few minutes with the tools included and watch as the freshest, most delicious ice cream appears right before your eyes. When Kathryn our Buyer demonstrated the sample for us, it went round the room three times and still we wanted more! When it comes to flavours, you can add anything from chocolate chips and fruit to nuts and crushed biscuits; you can also make frozen yoghurt, sorbet, slushies from fizzy drinks and even your favourite alcoholic treats.

This is great and worth the money. It does take up quite a bit of room in a small freezer as it has to be stored flat but it is worth juggling the food for. It is really easy to use and freezes the mixture very quickly so great if you need to make a few batches. I had purchased the Zoku model first but this one is far superior. I would definitely recommend this and it's great for a single person who wants a naughty treat without buying a whole tub of ice cream. If I had a bigger freezer, I would be tempted to have another to ensure a constant supply of frozen delights.

It's not cheap, but I got as a present. Having been stung by gizmos before, I steeled myself for another disappointment - I was guessing maybe ice-crystals? But it worked really well! Despite it being a really hot evening, we managed to get 5 1/2 cup servings (using the whole of the recipe pot vanilla) and everyone had different things - I had white choc and raspberry. Yes, it was soft icecream and it did take considerably longer to do 5th serving than first, but I think when it's a little cooler it will work faster and more solidly (like the video demo), but happy to recommend it now.

And excellent for small quantities BUT not sure if it is actually worth the money. It does make icecream quickly and you can turn it into ANY flavour you fancy but I have never got it frozen enough without putting in in freezer in container to solidify a bit more before eating. Which is what you do when making icecream without any gizmo! It does quicken up the first stages.
A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. You'll need to freeze the disc on a flat surface, pan side up for 24 hours in advance and let the ingredients sit on the disc for at least 15 seconds before mixing. The Sweet Spot will produce soft scoop texture ice cream.
