Fill the clean jar to the brim with food, place the clean rubber seal and lid on top and apply a metal clip to each side.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e2. Heat the jar – usually within a water bath – steam will escape as the food heats and expands, driving out any excess air. Please note: a little liquid may escape under the rubber seal along with the steam created by heating the jar but, please rest assured, air cannot get in as the steam goes out.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e3.
