The nation’s most loved chores

As the weather turns warmer, it’s the perfect time to start getting to grips with cleaning chores. But, which tasks around the home do we love, and which fill us with dread? We’ve researched into the most and least popular chores around the house, and how often we actually undertake them.

The results are in, and we can confirm that vacuuming has taken the top spot for the favourite household task! Over a quarter of us named it as our favourite task, followed by washing clothes and tidying away clutter.

When it comes to looking after our homes, 67% of people said they made the bed every day, 37% said they wash the dishes or load the dishwasher twice a day, 19% said they vacuum every day, 32% said they tidy away clutter once a day and 13% said they clean their bathroom every day too.

If you’re ever guilty of leaving your cleaning jobs a little too long, we found out just how much dirt accumulates in the average UK household – and it might make you consider stepping up your cleaning regime! The average household can accumulate up to 25kg of dirt over the course of a year, and if you think of that as being 25 bags of sugar, that’s a pretty huge amount!

Some of the worst places in the house for accumulating dirt can be kitchens and bathrooms, where between 5 and 10kg of dirt can accumulate annually. Areas that don’t have a lot of movement can be collection points too, like behind doors and under furniture.

If you want to make cleaning that little bit easier and perhaps turn your most loathed cleaning job into your most loved, why not look at our brilliant range of cleaning products and cleaning equipment.
