Pigs in Blankets with Sesame and Korean Glaze

Pigs in blankets are a festive favourite, but this Korean twist takes them to the next level. Smoky bacon, juicy sausages, and a sticky-sweet glaze made with gochujang, honey, and soy. Finished with sesame seeds for crunch, they’re the ultimate Christmas side – or the star of the Boxing Day buffet.

Ingredients

  • 24  Chipolata sausages 
  • 12 rashers  Smoked streaky bacon (halved) 
  • 1 tbsp  Gochujang paste 
  • 2 tbsp  Soy sauce 
  • 2 tbsp  Honey 
  • 2 tbsp  White sesame seeds 

Method

  1. Wrap each sausage in half a rasher of bacon. Place on a baking tray.
  2. Roast at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until nearly crisp.
  3. Mix gochujang, soy, and honey in a bowl.
  4. Brush over sausages, return to oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Scatter with sesame seeds before serving.
