Here at Lakeland, we’re big fans of The Great British Bake Off, so we’re delighted to be able to share a couple of recipes from Paul Hollywood’s latest book, The Weekend Baker.

Equally respected and feared for his straightforward approach to judging, Paul trained as a baker in the family business before becoming head baker at some of the country’s most prestigious hotels, including The Dorchester.

He also ran his own artisan bakery, supplying Harrods and other big names, before rocketing to fame on Bake Off alongside his partner-in-pastry, Mary Berry.

For me, pies are real comfort food, and steak and kidney is the absolute king
