Introducing our talented in house designer Elaine
Our talented in house designer, Elaine, has been with us for five years, and we love working with her every year to create our exclusive Christmas range. One of her favourite parts of the job is seeing the whole range sitting together on our store shelves especially when she sees customers buying her work. She also enjoys coming up with ideas from scratch and watching them develop into products, whether it’s our floral Summer Meadows range, or the next instalment of our renowned racing crackers.
When it comes to Christmas itself, Elaine’s favourite part is after Christmas Day, when the children are very full and content, and they can all sit down as a family and watch a film together (and eat the leftovers from Christmas dinner, of course!).
Elaine has fond memories of being a child and spending Christmas at her grandparents’ Victorian rectory, playing hide and seek with her older cousins under the huge tablecloths and sneaking mince pies before they were allowed!
Introducing our seasonal buyer Rebecca
Our seasonal buyer, Rebecca, began her journey at Lakeland in the customer services department when she was just a teenager, before joining the buying team as an assistant buyer a few years later. She’s now been working on Christmas gifting as a buyer for ten years. Rebecca’s favourite part of her role is creating new products: "I will never stop being excited when I see products launching on the shelves or see somebody with a product we have created. I love seeing people in supermarkets using our hamper totes to pack their shopping."
Her favourite part of Christmas is waking up on Christmas morning with her daughter bursting with excitement to see what Santa has left under the tree, followed by a lazy morning of playing before it’s time to start cooking dinner. She also loves having some quiet days when her holiday starts because did you know that she’s busy finalising next year’s Christmas range while you’re still shopping our current range!
