How did the Dry:Soon range come about?
Before launching any product we spend a lot of time researching and when we were looking at airers, we came across a heated one. We liked the idea but it was really quite basic and we wanted to develop the idea so it ticked all the boxes for our customers. We tracked down a manufacturer who shared our vision and spent about three years talking to them, visiting them and refining our ideas to develop and launch the Dry:Soon range.
What made you decide to extend the range...
Our original Dry:Soon range was a real hit with our customers and there was such a great response in terms of requests and helpful suggestions. There were lots of fantastic ideas about timers, castors, the way that you access the shelves, clips to make it even more secure when it's folded away... We're really excited about the new products we've been able to develop as a result of having such great support from our customers.

So customer suggestions were key when developing the deluxe versions?
Absolutely. Our customer's feedback has really helped to shape and inspire the deluxe airers and accessories. If there was anything that made me think ‘That’s fantastic, why have we not done that already?’, it was the addition of a timer and the option of fitted covers for faster drying times. They’re equally brilliant! Our customers are a clever bunch, and they’re lovely for sharing their ideas with us. They talk to us a lot, and the deluxe range has been built by them.
Once you’d decided which ideas to act on, how did you incorporate them?
We’re very fortunate to work with a brilliant design team who really understand the importance of getting it right for our customers. We said ‘This is the current airer, these are all the things our customers need and want... How can we incorporate these ideas?’. We wanted any changes to be really worthwhile, so we spent about a year working with the designer and manufacturer to ensure the deluxe version performed brilliantly and that it was really user-friendly too. We have a great partnership with our manufacturer which has helped us get the airers up to the standards our customers expect. This is their baby too, and they’re so proud of it – they love working with Lakeland, and the relationship we have with our customers.
What’s next for Dry:soon?
We all feel so passionate about what we've been able to achieve and, because there were so many ideas we really liked, there are even more Dry:Soon products being worked on and tested at the moment... so watch this space!

Deluxe Heated Airer Cover
The cover keeps heat in so clothes dry faster, and the mesh panel ensures air flows upwards to prevent any condensation. The cover even doubles as a storage bag for your airer.

Our Dry:Soon airers really are for everyone, and with different models to suit every household, here are just some of the ways they can make life easier for you...
1. Drying clothes faster
“They really do speed up drying time, especially if garments are laid flat over a number of bars so more of the fabric is exposed to the heat. Laying things like knitwear flat helps them keep their shape too.”
2. Drying outdoor gear
“I'm lucky enough to have a garage where I can keep my bike, and we use our wall-mounted airer to dry all of our cycling gear like jackets, shoes, padded shorts, mittens, helmets, socks... They can take forever to dry otherwise.”
3. Take care of delicate clothes
“Tumble drying may dry fabrics quicker, but it can shrink and damage fibres so for that reason alone, I think the heated airer is a good option. It’s a gentler choice for people who want to look after the clothes they’ve spent good money on.”
4. Protect activewear
“Lots of sportswear is woven in a technical way or with special wicking properties which would be lost with repeated tumble drying. These airers are ideal for getting sportswear dried quickly without losing those special qualities you pay a fortune for.”
