Roasting utensils
There’s a right tool for every job in the kitchen, and you’ll find the perfect roasting utensils amongst our fantastic collection of Lakeland kitchen utensils and gadgets.
The only thing better than the smell of roasting meat filling your kitchen is tasting that succulent, perfectly roasted chicken, leg of lamb or rump of beef. And the right cooking utensils make perfect roasting so much easier.
Roasting utensils take the hassle out of the kitchen and can help add touches to your cooking that’d be tricky otherwise. Whether you’re looking for a new basting spoon, some bamboo kitchen skewers, or a meat fork with a built-in thermometer (and who isn’t?), you’ll find them, and much more, in our Lakeland kitchen utensils range.
Keep fat at bay
If you’re conscious of your health, the sight of roasting meat swimming in excess fat isn’t a welcome one. That fat won’t do your arteries any good and maybe you want your meat actually roasted, not fried? On top of that, cooled and congealed fat in the bottom of a roasting tin can be a real pain to clean out as well.
To deal with excess fat easily, you need a fat drainer or a fat soaker. Fat drainers lift roasting meat up on a bed of supports or a raised shelf that allows fat to drain away from cooking meat. Fat soakers trap excess fat to keep it away from meat. But they also ensure the trapped fat is easy to remove when cleaning, making short work of what can be a tough and tiresome job.
Roast meat to the perfect temperature
To make sure meat is cooked properly and is safe to eat, it has to reach the right temperature as you roast it. Roast chicken should reach an internal temperature of 75ºC, whilst roast beef should reach 50ºC, at the least.
But how can you tell if your meat is properly and safely cooked? And how can you make sure – without overcooking your meat – that you won’t cut into your Sunday roast at the kitchen table and find it’s still too pink? With a probe thermometer, that’s how.
Our selection of probe thermometers have thin probes that can be inserted into meat as it roasts in the oven, whilst their digital displays will clearly show the internal temperature of your meat. They’re easy to use, reliable, and as every good kitchen utensil should be, they’re great fun too!
