Roasting Bags

Roasting bags are the secret to juicy joints, tender veg, and beautifully flavoured fish, all with far less fuss. Simply pop your ingredients inside, seal, and let the oven do its thing. The bag locks in steam and seasoning, helping everything cook evenly and stay wonderfully moist (perfect if you're worried about drying out a turkey crown).

From large options for family feasts to turkey roasting bags - and any other meat you fancy - our range makes delicious results practically effortless. They're brilliant for midweek meals too: think flaky fish or a quick cook-in-a-bag dinner with minimal washing up. Shop roasting essentials at Lakeland today.

Roasting bags for every kitchen

Whether you're cooking for a crowd or yourself, the right roasting bag keeps things simple. Our range includes large roasting bags for generous joints, oven roasting bags for everyday meals, and handy fish bags for quick midweek wins. They help lock in steam and flavour, so your food cooks evenly and stays wonderfully juicy.

Large roasting bags

Perfect for family roasts, batch-cooking sessions, or prepping ahead. These roomy bags fit bigger joints and piles of veg with ease, helping everything cook gently and retain moisture.

Turkey roasting bags

If you're nervous about a dry bird, a turkey roasting bag is your new best friend. It keeps the meat succulent, speeds up cooking, and helps infuse every slice with flavour. It's ideal for chicken, beef and pork, too.

Bags for fish and delicate ingredients

Fish fillets, prawns, and delicate veg love a roasting bag. They steam beautifully, stay tender, and soak up any seasoning or marinades without falling apart.

Can you use roasting bags in an air fryer?

Most roasting bags are designed for conventional ovens, so you'll want to double-check the packaging before using them in an air fryer. Look for bags specifically labelled as air-fryer safe. If they're not, stick to oven use to keep things safe and cooking smoothly.

The two are designed to work together. The weight of the pestle and the curve of the mortar help you break ingredients down quickly and evenly.

How to use a roasting bag

Using a roasting bag couldn't be simpler, and once you've tried it, you'll wonder how you ever cooked without one.

  1. Prep your ingredients - Season your meat, fish, or veg as usual. Add herbs, spices, marinades, stock… whatever flavours you fancy.
  2. Pop everything into the bag - Place your ingredients inside and distribute them evenly. If you're cooking a joint of meat, tuck it in seam-side down.
  3. Seal the bag - Use the included tie (or the heatproof seal provided) to close it securely. Leave a little room inside the bag so steam can circulate.
  4. Place on a baking tra - This makes it easier to lift in and out of the oven, and catches any stray juices.
  5. Pierce the bag - Snip a few small vents in the top to let excess steam escape safely while cooking.
  6. Roast as normal - Pop it in the oven and let the bag work its magic.
  7. Rest before opening - Carefully cut the bag open away from you (the steam will be hot) and let your food sit for a few minutes before serving.
