Heated Clothes Airers and Dryers

Busy households combined with unreliable weather can make getting the laundry dry a frustrating task. In 2008 Lakeland introduced the perfect solution to clothes drying with the Dry:Soon range of heated electric airers. Whether you’re looking to dry just a few items, or you have a huge washing load to get through, the range of Lakeland heated airer options has everything you need. Designed to get your clothing dry quickly, efficiently and most importantly indoors in any weather, you’ll find a clothes dryer to suit your household.

If the environmental impact and cost of tumble dryers is off putting, these electric airers are the perfect solution. Economical to run and gentle on delicates, they come with a range of accessories including covers, extra shelves and castors to provide efficient drying. The versatile design means they are suitable for anything from duvet covers to your smalls and, as they are made from durable aluminium, they are strong yet lightweight so you can put them anywhere in your home.

We’ve been changing the game when it comes to drying clothes since 2008. Maybe now is the perfect time to join us!

Which Heated Clothes Airer should you buy?

When it comes to which heated clothes airer you should buy, it all boils down to you and your home. There isn’t necessarily an answer to ‘Which is the best Dry:Soon Heated Airer?’ – it’s more about which heated airer is best for you.

Our Deluxe model has a few more quirks and features than the others, such as having a built-in timer and easier access to the front. But if you don’t feel like you need these little extras, then our Standard model has the same drying space and maximum load.

If you’re looking for a more compact model to suit a smaller space, our Mini Standard model is a perfectly condensed version of our 3-tier Standard model. This means you can still reap the benefits of heated clothes drying, without taking up your entire room.

Our Drying Pod uses a fan heater to circulate hot air around your clothes, rather than heating up the bars for your clothes to hang on. The soft cover traps the air inside the pod to heat your clothes quicker. Our Heated Cabinet works in the same way, but is slightly bigger, meaning it can hold more clothes. And if you’re looking for something a little more portable, our Foldable Heated Airer folds down to just 28cm in height.

Dry:Soon Heated Airers

The first in the range, discover Dry:Soon standard heated clothes airers. Choose between the classic or the mini size and start drying your clothing the Dry:Soon way.

Using aluminium heated bars, your clothes are gently dried with a thermostatic control. This way, it can never overheat. Much faster than a traditional unheated drying stand, our electric drying rack works to get the job done in half the time.

Got more to wash? In a busy household, the laundry can easily mount up, so you might need something with extra space for drying. In that case, shop the range of Deluxe heated airers. With a massive 21m of drying space over three tiers, the Deluxe Dry:Soon airers have a few additions that might make them the perfect choice for you. They have an eye-level control panel for maximum ease of use as well as optional detachable castors to make your clothes dryer moveable when in use and even more convenient.

Dry:Soon Drying Pod

If you’re looking for something more compact in the Dry:Soon range, you’ll find the smaller Drying Pod. With room for 12 hangers of clothing, the Drying Pod is fitted with an internal heated fan in the base. This fan blows the warm air up and through the clothing inside the pod, drying it quickly and effectively without the need for an expensive tumble dryer.

Heated Airers for Small & Delicate Garments

Because we know hanging your smalls on radiators around the house isn’t ideal, we designed some fantastic heated airer accessories for the Dry:Soon airer to ensure you can safely and gently dry your delicates in peace and privacy.

From airer covers that cover your entire electric drying rack to lock in the warmth to additional peg and shelf inserts that offer extra space inside the dryer, we’ve thought of everything when it comes to indoor drying.

While our range of heated clothes airers is focused on speed and efficiency for drying your clothes inside, we understand you might be looking to keep things simple. If you would prefer a traditional airer, view our full range of indoor heated airers or if you prefer line-fresh drying, view our rotary airers.

Are Heated Airers worth it?

This depends on whether you like having damp clothes draped all over the house. If you don’t have a tumble dryer, then there are few alternatives to hanging clothes on radiators, chairs and doors – not ideal, especially in the winter, when it can take days for clothes to dry.

There’s nothing worse than remembering you’ve got visitors coming round and realising all your soggy socks, shorts and sweaters are decorating your living room. And then you’ve got the problem of where you’re going to hide them – not to mention the smell of bunched up damp clothes – yuck!

These are just a couple of the reasons why you should buy a Dry:Soon Heated Airer, and we haven’t even touched on the energy-saving benefits yet…

Are Heated Airers cheap to run?

One of the main benefits of heated airers is that they cost just pennies to run. And although they take a little longer to dry your clothes than a tumble dryer, they take a lot less time to dry clothes compared to draping them all over the house. And while it might be quicker to drape a few t-shirts over the radiator, you’re not going to want to put the central heating on and heat the entire house just to get a few soggy t-shirts dry.

All in all, investing in a Dry:Soon Heated Airer is a great compromise when it comes to drying clothes quickly, without heating the whole house.

Can you leave a Heated Airer on overnight?

We wouldn’t recommend leaving your Dry:Soon Heated Airer on overnight – just like we wouldn’t recommend leaving any other electrical appliance on overnight. But if you have a Deluxe model with a timer, you won’t need to worry about remembering to turn it off before bed time. When you hang your soggy washing up during the day, simply set the timer to switch itself off before you go to bed and wake up to bone-dry clothes in the morning, ready to wear.
