"faulty design far from improved"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Having used the previous design for years I bought two of the new 'improved' version without hesitation a month or so ago. The first one snapped after two weeks use (bits of the plastic around the collar broke off). Assumed it was a one off and just threw out and started using the second one. This has also just cracked the same way and is unusable. Design needs to be looked at as it s not fit for purpose. Unfortunately I do not have the receipt as I didn't anticipate any problem having used the old style ones for years.

"Not very impressed"

star star star_border star_border star_border

Bought this just under 3 months ago, and it's now broken (the bit you squeeze has become detached from the rest). Whilst using it, I also found it took far longer than I was expecting to pump an open 2L bottle upto pressure, as I have used a pump-action fizz keeper in the past which worked a lot better. All that said, however, Lakeland customer service was great about it, I phoned up, and after just 3 minutes on the phone, they gave me a refund. Therefore, item gets 2 stars (as it did work (until it broke), if I spent enough time squeezing it), but I would give Lakeland 5 stars!

"New Fizz Keeper Fails"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I had two Fizz Keepers for several years and they gave valiant service before beginning to lose pressure. I replaced them both recently at the Salisbury store and have to report that both are useless with the new silicone washer. They do not keep the pressure overnight and only serve to spoil a decent gin and tonic. A great pity as the previous ones (same design, different washer) were a great success.

"Really had my money's worth."

This review is for an older version of this product

I had my two Fizz Keepers 15+yrs un til last summer when one gave up the gas, sorry, ghost. Last week the 2nd gave its last sigh, so I have bought two more! I haven't tried the metal fizz caps as Arthritis and Gout in my hands means I am not able to screw/unscrew bottle caps. The plastic 'lock' that projects a little gives me something on which to grip when I remove the Fizz Keeper or screw it onto a bottle. One Lady said that she found pumping the F.K'r painful for her thumbs, when my hands are 'bad' I use the base of my hands to pump together, looks a bit odd, but it works!!!

These fizzkeepers work very well - until one day you find that one of them has lost pressure. Screwing them on tighter has no effect, and eventually you realize that the RUBBER SEAL has split!!!!

We're delighted to say that we introduced an improved version of the Fizz-Keeper in March 2011 as a response to customer feedback, and it has been performing well. Thank you for your feedback.
