Niederegger Plum Caramel Loaf

I really loved this , I love marzipan. With the added tiny nut and plum pieces , I found it makes for a different slightly more grainy marzipan , which is delicious. I did try hard not to eat it all in on go .

This is an excellent gift if the recipient loves marzipan. It really is delicious. I found the name of the product a bit confusing on two counts. I couldn’t really identify the plum caramel flavour and the term loaf made me think it would be more substantial in size. This does not stop it deserving 5 stars though. It’s definitely a luxury item and if marzipan is your thing, you’ll love it.

The plums gives it an absolutely lovely rich taste, reminding me of a fruit cake Sweet and plummy , but not sickly. Just heavenly. The name “loaf” reflects the shape (and not the size) and as you would expect of marzipan it is solid and dense .
