Filled with delicious ginger juice, these Chocolate Ginger Pearls from Carres Chocolaterie are a delectable treat for ginger lovers with great taste. A brand new flavour sensation, packed with fiery liquid ginger, they're encased in dark chocolate and finished with a tempting sugar coating.
Established in 1992 by Master Chocolatier Dirk Naert, Carré specialise in making chocolates with a liquid filling. In a process considered too laborious by many chocolatiers, Dirk Naert blew the dust of an old, traditional recipe and spent a year perfecting the production process. Chocolaterie Carré has now built up a range of pralines with liquid contents using the finest Belgian chocolate.

Writing this review to put the world slightly to rights - these ginger pearls have a massively undeserved rep on here. They are not what you expect at all, but they are all the better for it. Lakeland, get in touch if you are having trouble selling them and feel the need to offload them at a discounted price - I'll definitely take them off your hands!!
I was looking forward to reviewing these, dark chocolate and ginger, a match made in heaven. I bit into the chocolate, expecting a smooth chocolate crunch, but the chocolate on the inside was coated with something crunchy and bitty, which didn’t feel pleasant in my mouth, the ginger filling was pleasant, maybe, just a little strong. Sorry not to my taste.

Not the best chocolates, very sugary in the after taste of a very sweet ginger liquid. Definitely do not recommend.
We're sorry these were not to your taste.
I was looking forward to the combination of dark chocolate and ginger, but was really disappointed with the ginger taste and the sugary coating on the inside of the pearl. I realise that with a liquid centre it will need something to contain it, but the sugary layer is just not blending with the chocolate. Also, I didn’t find the ginger liquid tasted very much of ginger, so these are not for me.

I really liked the look of these. I like chocolate and I like ginger, but sadly I did not like the taste or texture of these. Too much ginger for my palate. I got my husband to try one and he hated it too! Sorry, not a winner for me.
