The Red Tartan Lakeland Heated Throw is so thick and luxurious, it'll be your favourite blanket in no time. The super soft sherpa material will send you into a cosy slumber in seconds. The soft wool-like material was such an obvious choice when we were choosing materials for our heated blankets.

To help you customise your comfort, it has nine heat settings, which you can switch between using the easy-to-use controller. As well as the different heat settings, it also has nine time settings. This means you can relax under your heated throw, knowing it'll turn itself off if you happen to doze off. It also has built-in overheating protection and overcurrent protection to prevent it from getting too hot.

Machine washable heated throw

Because we're so sure this will soon be your new can't-live-without item, we wanted to make it machine washable. If it's ever starting to look a little too well-loved, just unplug your controller and pop it in the washing machine at 30°C to get it looking - and smelling - fresh again.

How much does it cost to run a heated throw?

It can be difficult to measure an exact cost due to changing energy price caps. But based on recent energy price caps in the UK, a heated throw that uses 160W can cost as little as 5p per hour, or potentially even less. The better insulated your home is, the lower the heat setting you'll need to use on your heated throw. One of the main benefits of a heated throw is that it only warms you, and not the whole room. This means you only need to have your central heating on low, if at all. Reports suggest that turning your thermostat down by one degree can save you hundreds on your annual energy bill.
