Self-Watering Spike

Product number: 7407

Fill it and leave it!

An ingenious spike that continually releases a measured 'drip' of water right to your plant's roots, keeping hanging baskets and potted plants watered for up to 3 weeks.

And here's the really clever part; the drip-rate automatically adjusts depending on the ambient temperature – the warmer the weather, the faster it drips; the cooler it gets, the slower it drips, so plants always receive enough to drink!

Includes 650ml reservoir, but most plastic pop bottles can be attached.

For indoor and outdoor use.

"doesn't work properly"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Think it looks ok, but empties itself within 24 hours so after a week's holiday all my pots were dead. Have fiddled with the settings a lot and unable to find any position which makes any difference. I bought 3 of these but am very disappointed, especially as I hadn't arranged anyone to water my plants while I was away because of them, and arrived home to many dead plants decorating the house we were trying to sell.

"Stress-free watering"

I started with a couple of these and was so impressed I have enough to go in all my summer hanging baskets. Once the foliage has grown up you can't see the ball. I also have them in plants in the conservatory and they work extremely well. I recently lent 6 to a friend who was going on holiday and all her plants survived 6 weeks while she was away. Can you sell them all year please?

"Spiked!"

I bought four of these a few weeks ago. I carefully followed the instructions and installed the spikes in four house plants. Having just returned from a fortnight away during hot weather, I was disappointed to see that none of the four green globes had any less water in them than when I left. And, not surprisingly, all four plants were flagging. Judging by reviews from other customers this seems to be a product that works brilliantly for some, but not at all for others. I'm afraid I'm a member of the latter group.

It's always disappointing to hear that one of our products has not been up to our usual standards. I'll be in touch about the faulty spike, please accept my apologies.

"Great Back-up"

I agree with Claire, these are not designed to replace plant care, they help out with watering during the time you can't look after your plants. They are suited for houseplants of medium size and have kept my plants alive for three weeks in a conservatory. You can't overfil or they don't drip properly I have 5 on the go and the only plant they can't cope with is my indoor basil. They are also good for hanging baskets as they drip during the day and I then water in the evening.

"Nice idea, shame it doesn't work"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

This seems a great idea, though I returned from holiday to find all the water was still in the reservoir. The only way I can get it to drip water into the pot is to shake it or tap it, which unfortunately I'm unable to do when I"m not in the house. Very disappointing!
