Lakeland Iced Brandy Fruit Cake – 1kg

This cake is one of the tastiest fruit cakes that I have ever tasted. It is very moist which I presume must be because of the Cumbrian damson brandy that is used in its maturation. Packed with fruit, it is simply decorated, without royal icing, thus making it easy to cut. I tried it with cheese, as suggested, and I agree that it was a very good pairing. As I am a useless baker, I will be adding this to my Christmas shopping list in future years.

This cake was really well packaged ensuring that it arrived beautifully fresh, the smell on opening was mouth-watering! I think the design is lovely - simple yet stylish with just the right amount of marzipan and icing. The cake itself was a delight - rich and moist with generous quantities of fruit - particularly enjoyed the whole cherries - absolutely delicious! Great value for money - I will buy again and recommend.

Bought this early for consumption over the Xmas period. Looks good and I fully expect it to be well up to the usual Lakeland standard.

This cake was smaller than I expected, When I ordered I checked website for measurements and only the weight was shown. I usually bake my own so make a larger cake. Hopefully the taste will compensate for this and if so next time I will order two. I chose this because it was locally made Difficult to give 5 stars until I have tasted it.
